Storyteller Behind Netflix’s "How Zeke Got Religion"
In 2019, John McNichol sold his story "How Zeke Got Religion at 20,000 Feet" to SNAFU: Resurrection , the anthology series of military -themed Sci Fi, Fantasy and Horror. In 2023, Netflix selected John McNichol’s original short story from approximately 20,000 others to be adapted for its Emmy-winning animated anthology series Love, Death & Robots (Season 4, Episode 8, 2025).

The Author
John McNichol is a Canadian-born science fiction author and Catholic schoolteacher whose stories blend explosive imagination with moral depth, theological undertones, and old-school adventure. He is best known for The Young Chesterton Chronicles, a steampunk-inspired series where a teenage G.K. Chesterton battles Martians, monarchs, and modernism.
With over a dozen published works, including The Tripods Attack! The Emperor of North America, and The King's Gambit, John writes with a clear goal: to awaken wonder, defend truth, and deliver page-turning fiction that speaks to the soul.
